While seven months pregnant women Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez has revealed she competed at the Paris Olympics on Monday.
The 26-year-old Nada won her first match in the women’s individual sabre competition, but she was then knocked out in the last 16.
Hafez said in a post on Instagram “What appears to you as two players on the podium, they were actually three! It was me, my competitor, and my yet to come to our world little baby!”
Hafez, from Cairo and she was appearing at her third Olympics.
She said “My baby and I had our fair share of challenges, be it both physical and emotional,”
A former gymnast with a degree in medicine, Hafez is a three-time Olympian who won gold medals in the individual and team saber events at the 2019 African Games.
