$85,000 for victims of crime in Victoria

A new scheme has been introduced to help victims of crime in Victoria get up to $85,000 in financial support online.

Accordingly, it is stated that the Minister of Victim Support Enver Erdoğan has announced the new scheme which can be accessed online so that the victims no longer have to come to court and face their criminals.

A crime victim can receive up to $60,000 and under certain legal circumstances they may be able to receive an additional $25,000.

This law reform will not provide funding to the family unit but will provide financial assistance to each family member.

The application period for assistance has been extended from two years to three years and for victims of sexual crimes or domestic violence to 10 years.

The new financial assistance scheme will start from November 18.
