New data released by the tax office has revealed where Australia’s wealthiest residents like to call home.
The ATO’s number crunching revealed which postcodes have the highest average taxable incomes.
Just three states are represented in the results.

1. 2028 – Double Bay
Sydney’s Double Bay takes the top spot. Residents make on average $354,308 a year.
2. 6011 – Cottesloe, Peppermint Grove
An outlier far from Sydney and Melbourne, this Western Australian postcode is Australia’s second wealthiest. Residents average $295,283 a year.
3. 2027 – Darling Point, Edgecliff, HMAS Rushcutters, Point Piper, NSW
Residents in this affluent part of Sydney make on average $269,777 a year.
4. 3142 – Hawksburn, Toorak, Victoria
The flash Melbourne suburbs of Hawksburn and Toorak house residents who average an income of $266,020.
5. 2023 – Bellevue Hill, NSW
Here, residents take home on average $245,728 a year.
6. 2030 – Dover Heights, HMAS Watson, Rose Bay North, Vaucluse, Watson’s Bay, NSW
Back in Sydney, residents of this postcode average $239,974 a year.
It’s also the biggest postcode on the list, with 9590 residents.
7. 3944 – Portsea, Victoria
Victoria enters the list at number seven with Portsea, where residents average $221,867 a year.
8. 2108 – Coasters Retreat, Currawong Beach, Great Mackerel Beach, Palm Beach, NSW
This beachside postcode has an average individual income of $216,262.
9. 2110 – Hunters Hill, NSW
In ninth spot is Hunters Hill, where residents earn an average of $215,456.
10. 2025 – Woollahra, NSW
Woollahra residents have an average taxable income of $215,123.
