Application period to obtain NICs for Sri Lankans ends on June 30

The deadline to apply for a national identity card for Sri Lankan residents over 40 who lack one has been extended to June 30.

Commissioner General of Registration of Persons Pradeep Saputanthri said the program is designed to assist those who haven’t been able to obtain an ID card due to missing birth certificates.

People can submit their applications through their Grama Niladharis.
