World’s 20 best airlines revealed #1QatarAirways

Customers have crowned the best of the best at the World Airline Awards overnight in London.

Organised by Skytrax since 1999, the awards let customers rate airlines on a number of factors, including customer service and value for money.

Australia’s main airlines didn’t fare so well, with Qantas dropping from 17th to 24th in the top 100, Virgin Australia from 46th to 54th, and Jetstar from 69th to 74th.

Rex managed to climb six spots up the rankings to 50th.

1. Qatar Airways

But they were pipped at the post by Qatar Airways, which claimed the top spot for the eighth time in the award’s 25-year history.

“This is a proud Qatar Airways moment and it is my honour to share this award with my hardworking colleagues,” CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer said.

“This award is testimony to our relentless dedication to providing unparalleled service and innovation. We look forward to more wins in the future.”

The carrier also won awards for the world’s best business class, the world’s best business class lounge, and the best airline in the Middle East.

Last year’s number one, Singapore Airlines also claimed the titles for best first class cabin, and for best airline in Asia.
