The leading international cities for return to work

A new report has found Workers are returning to the office at different levels across major global cities,

According to the research by UK think tank Centre for Cities Despite predictions during the pandemic of a home-based employment revolution, current trends show the office is far from obsolete.

The leading cities for employees returning to work, including one in Australia.

1. Paris

Paris comes out top of the global cities for workers attending the office at 3.5 days per week.

2. Singapore

The vast majority of workers in the city state surveyed before the pandemic said they attended the office full time, but since 2020 that number has fallen.

3. New York

American employers were among the most strident in demanding workers return to the office, but despite this workers in New York average 3.1 days every day, about the same level as the period before the pandemic.

4. Sydney

About 50 per cent of employers in Sydney are concerned return-to-office directives would result in workers quitting, according to the research. The issue was recently in the spotlight when the New South Wales government asked thousands of its employees to attend the office four days per week.

Full time and part time workers in Sydney work from the office an average of 2.8 days per week.

5. London

London workers have plenty of transport options for commuting to the office, such as the Tube underground,

Workers in Canada’s most populous city are the least reluctant to return to the office, averaging 2.7 days per week.
