Darwin is Australia’s youngest capital city

There are more women than men in Australia, according to the latest population data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), which includes male-to-female ratios.

The national median age is 37. Darwin had the youngest median age of Australia’s capital cities, while Adelaide had the oldest.

Darwin was the only capital city with more men than women. According to the ABS, there are 104.7 men to every 100 women in Darwin.

The lowest male-to-female ratio of the capital cities was Hobart, where women outnumbered men 100 to 95.6.

The lowest male-to-female ratio in the country was recorded in Woollahra, a suburb in Sydney’s east, with 80.9 males to every 100 females.
