Customers of two major banks still in trouble

Many customers of Westpac and St George banks have been affected due to the outage of internet banking services for the second day.

However, it is said that online banking has been restored by around 4 pm.

It is reported that millions of people dealing with Westpac and St George banks faced problems for the second day in a row due to this technical error.

Both banks said they were aware of customers having issues accessing online and mobile banking at 2.15pm today.

At 4pm, Westpac, which owns St George, said: “Our online and mobile banking services have now been restored.”

“We apologise for the disruption this afternoon and thank you for your patience during this time,” Westpac said in a statement on X.
The outage comes after the banks experienced a similar outage about the same time yesterday.

Yesterday’s outage began at 1.40pm and was not resolved until 3.15pm.

Some customers on social media noted they could not log onto the app or online banking via desktop.
