94 people have lost their lives in an accident caused by the explosion of a fuel tanker in Nigeria.
It is reported that people gathered to collect fuel from an overturned fuel tanker and at that time the bowser exploded.
Another 50 people have been taken to hospital with serious burn injuries in this incident which was reported in the town of Majia, north of the capital Abuja.
The injured have been hospitalized, and the Nigerian authorities have taken steps to carry out the mass burial of the dead yesterday.
After the accident that happened on Tuesday night, police spokesman Lawal Shiisu Adam stated that although the officers had warned the people not to go near fuel tanker, they were unable to control the crowd that came there.
The driver, who was not injured in the accident, has been arrested and the police are conducting further investigations.
