NSW govt to revive Sydney’s nighttime economy with new reforms

The NSW government is vowing to rejuvenate the live music industry over summer by introducing reforms.

These new reforms being introduced in parliament today are designed to breathe life into Sydney’s nighttime economy.

The first key change is to extend the hours for which businesses who provide live music can operate.

The state government is also looking to minimise the number of noise complaints that people can make about a venue.

The cost of these reforms is set at $58 million, and the NSW government will be hiking fees in the hospitality and entertainment industry to help pay for the bill.
