Nearly 250,000 Queensland public servants are set to receive a one-off cost-of-living payment before Christmas.
The government confirmed the one-off cash boost will cost the state $350 million a year.
Under the Queensland government’s wage deal, eligible Queensland public servants can get a “Cost of Living Adjustment” payment of up to three per cent if inflation exceeds their salaries.
Eligible workers will be able to get between $1,400 to $2,200 while others on bigger salaries will be able to get more.
The Queensland public servant bonus is part of a three-year agreement which was struck last year and is estimated to cost the government $350 million a year.
Paycheques are set to arrive in time for Christmas.
