NSW drivers could be sitting on hundreds of dollars in unclaimed toll rebates

New South Wales motorists could be sitting on hundreds of dollars worth of unclaimed toll rebates.

Former NSW premier Dominic Perrottet introduced a road toll subsidy as part of a $7 billion cost-of-living relief package earlier in the year.

The scheme entitles road users who spend $375 a year on tolls to a 40 per cent rebate of up to $750 for the 2022-2023 financial year.

Motorists who spend more than $402 on tolls in the 2023-24 financial year can claim up to $802.

Sole traders may be eligible for up to $1500 this financial year and $1605 for 2023-24.

Casula, Hammondville, Liverpool, Beaumont Hills and Rouse Hill are the suburbs with the most people eligible for the rebate, according to government figures.

Drivers can claim every three, six or nine months, or they can choose to make one total claim at the end of the financial year.

Although unclaimed rebates roll over, motorists only have one year after the end of the financial year to collect them.

Eligible drivers have until June 30, 2024 to claim for any tolls spent in the 2022-2023 financial year.

Anyone who has their toll account linked with their NSW Service account can check the app to see if they are owed any unclaimed toll relief.
