Australia’s Olympic team are renting portable air conditioning units and fans following a predicted heatwave during the Paris Olympics next year.
The Australian Olympic Committee decided on the measures after the Paris 2024 organisers announced it would not install air conditioning in the athletes’ village.
The units will be used inside the rooms of Australian athletes during the July games next year.
The committee is prepared to spend more than $100,000.
The final number of units is yet to be finalised.
