High school students will once again stage a classroom walkout in Melbourne today, in a sign of support for Palestine.
Students from a number of inner-city schools along with university students are expected to gather on the steps of Flinders Street Station at 1pm.
The first school strike saw thousands of students walk out of classrooms across the country last month, ignoring pleas from politicians and authorities.
Organiser Ivy Bergman hoped the second strike would be bigger than the last.
“The atrocities in Palestine are only escalating after the so-called ceasefire, we refuse to let things return to normal in our city,” the 16-year-old said.
“We will be disrupting the status quo, shutting down roads and businesses during our strike.”
