Economists predict RBA to start cutting rates in September

Australians could benefit from falling interest rates this year.

Some economists predict the RBA will start cutting rates from around September.

This means household budgets will endure rates of 4.35 per cent for most of the year.

Independent Economist Saul Eslake said it is “not impossible” for the RBA to ease interest rates before September.

Mr Eslake told Sky News Australia that inflation would need to fall “more quickly” than the Reserve Bank is currently forecasting, for eased rates.
