An increased net reach for Victoria’s land tax has gained almost a billion extra in funding as it lays bare the “desperate” Labor government, says Opposition Leader John Pesutto.
“The government is so desperate under Jacinta Allan to plug budget black holes it is now extending its tax grab to people on modern incomes,” Mr Pesutto told Sky News Australia.
“Let’s say they invest in a very modest property for their future, and the future of their kids, this government is saying, no we’ll take a piece of that as well.
“This is off the back of Victoria’s most vulnerable people.
“Victorians are being punished by the incompetence of the Allan Labor government.”
