It’s been revealed Victorian taxpayers have footed the bill for Tennis Australia’s pandemic losses.
Reportedly, the state government secretly handed over millions of dollars on the eve of the state election.
It’s believed $63 million was secretly approved by Victoria’s Treasurer Tim Pallas in September 2022.
The money funded Tennis Australia’s pandemic-related losses between 2021 and 2022.
The organisation has claimed the money was a financial contingency plan that was agreed to during negotiations with the state government.
