AFL Grand Final Today

Collingwood youngster Jack Ginnivan has been elevated into the club’s 22 for the AFL grand final against Brisbane on Saturday.

Ginnivan had fallen out of favour at the Magpies this season, resulting in him being the sub for the side’s qualifying final and preliminary final.

The Magpies have made two changes with Ginnivan joining the 22 and tall Billy Frampton replacing injured key forward Dan McStay.

Brisbane defender Jack Payne has failed in his bid to start in the decider, with coach Chris Fagan opting to stick with Darcy Gardiner in an unchanged 22.

Collingwood midfielder Patrick Lipinksi has copped awful luck on the brink of the grand final, going from being a member of the Magpies’ 22 for 13 straight games to being the sub.

“He [Frampton] can play second ruck so he gives us good flexibility for the team,” said Magpies coach Craig McRae.

“For every heartache story [McStay’s injury] there’s an opportunity and Bill gets that.”
