More than 100,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka during the first 23 days of August.
According to latest data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 109,954 tourists arrived in the island thus far in August.
Visitors from India continue to dominate the tourist numbers with 22,667 Indian nationals arriving in the month of August as well.
Meanwhile, the SLTDA added 13,175 from the United Kingdom, 7,896 from China, 6,966 from Germany, 5,584 from France, 5,296 from Russia, 4,666 from Italy, 4,092 from Australia, 3,988 from Canada and 3,795 tourists from Spain have also visited Sri Lanka in the first half this month.
The SLTDA noted that 143,039 tourists in total arrived in July.
Accordingly, 877,867 tourists have arrived in the country so far this year.
