Aussie lolly shop bags Guinness World Record

A lolly shop in Melbourne’s northwest has entered the record books with the world’s largest pick ‘n’ mix aisle, offering over 900 different types of sweets in that aisle alone.

Tom’s Confectionery Warehouse opened its doors at Highpoint Shopping Centre in late 2023.

Guinness World Records officials awarded the store the title on January 13, after counting a total of 947 different lolly varieties in their pick ‘n’ mix aisle.

“It’s quite a laborious, manual task to do all the counting, but it needs to be done, it needs to be thorough,” Guinness World Records adjudicator Pete Fairbairn said.

The 1200 square metre store is already the largest lolly shop in the country, and boats 30,000 sweet treats from around the world.

It also doubles as a playground for the young and the young-at-heart, with a human candy claw machine and an interactive dinosaur among the many features inside the real-life wonderland.

Tom’s Confectionery Warehouse also has a store in Hendra, Brisbane.
