Australians warned to leave Israel

Australians have been warned not to travel to Israel due to the ongoing conflict.

The government has warned Australians not to travel to Israel due to the instability of the security situation in the region with the escalation of conflicts between Israel, Iran and Lebanon.

Australian citizens in Israel have been advised to leave the country while commercial flights are operating.

The Smartraveller website, which issues the federal government’s travel advisory, says Israel is under constant threat of missile and rocket attacks.

Security issues may arise without notice and disruptions may occur including airspace closures, flight cancellations, diversions to other airports.

Although border crossings are still open, travelers have been warned to stay away from border crossings close to Lebanon.

Australians stranded in Israel or Palestine are also advised to register with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
