
The list of young rich people who own some of Australia’s biggest companies in 2024 has been published.
11 people under the age of 40 are on Australia’s Young Rich List and their collective worth is $28.9 billion.
The assets of the wealthiest Australians aged 40 and under have increased by almost 1600 per cent in 21 years, Rich List data compiler Yolanda Redrup said.
In 2003, at the start of recording Australia’s young rich, the net worth of the sixty-two individuals stood at $2.5 billion.
Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht, the co-founders of Canva, have topped the list of young rich people in this country.
They are leading the way for the fifth year in a row and their estimated net worth is $14 billion.
Ed Craven, co-founder of the online investment business Stake.com, is the youngest person on this rich list, worth $4.8 billion.
Sam Prince, the founder of the popular Mexican restaurant chain Zambrero, is in third place and the 40-year-old’s fortune has grown from $1.6 billion last year to $1.8 billion this year.
Robbie and James Ferguson, the owners of a video game company, Jack Zhang, founder of Airwallex, and Robert Chamberlain of the Who Know Group also belong to the list of Australia’s Young Rich.
