Billionaire businessman Adrian Portelli has turned Bruce Wayne after his Melbourne headquarters were broken into on Wednesday.
Now he’s offering a $200,000 reward to catch the crooks.
Thieves smashed their way inside Portelli’s Coburg business, located in Melbourne’s western suburbs, using sledgehammers.
Four masked intruders tore the building apart in search of cash, and while they didn’t find any money, Portelli said they got away with some designer goods.
“There was probably a few thousand dollars worth of stuff,” he told A Current Affair.
“But in the grand scheme of things they didn’t get away with much,” he said.
“We film a lot with cash and a lot of money. So we ran a promotion, a $350,000 promotion. So we had $350,000 in cash here,” he said.
“We film weeks in advance.”
“There’s definitely no money on site. Money goes straight to the bank, so I hope they’re good bank robbers!” Portelli said.
The new father says he’s felt uneasy about Melbourne’s current crime wave, but won’t stop until those responsible are caught.
“We’ve taken extreme measures at my personal home. But I can only imagine, I’ve heard many stories – I feel for everyone,” he said.
Since sharing news of the break in online, Portelli says he has been inundated with tip-offs and messages of support.
“We’ve gotten a lot of information and we’ve passed it onto the police that are in charge of this investigation and they’re doing everything they can.”
“We’re confident,” he said.
Police are calling for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
