Brisbane man, 63, on more than 100 historical child sex charges

A man has been charged with more than 100 sex offences four decades after his alleged offending began in 1980.

The 63-year-old Brisbane man allegedly assaulted girls younger than 16 years of age in the Wide Bay Burnett and Capricornia regions of Queensland between 1980 and 1991.

Detectives arrested the 63-year-old on January 25 in East Brisbane after investigating his case for four months under Operation Victor Dialect.

He was charged with 96 counts of indecent treatment of girls under 16, eight counts of indecent assault on females, and one count of indecent assault.

He is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 26.

“If you’ve experienced sexual assault, it is not your fault and you are not alone,” Queensland Police said.
