Calls for Senate inquiry into super funds as frustration grows

Two of the nation’s largest superannuation funds are facing scrutiny after being forced to apologise to customers for substandard service.

There are calls for a Senate inquiry into super funds after a third accusation of unethical conduct was levelled against AustralianSuper.

The fund stands accused of taking advantage of grieving families for financial gain, which it rejects.

The accusation was at the centre of a second Sky News Australia exposé on the superannuation sector in which families detailed their anger at unexplained delays when accessing their loved one’s super and death payments.

Other families detailed to Sky News Australia their frustrations with CBUS Super.
