Childcare costs decreased by 13 per cent in the September quarter

Childcare costs decreased by 13 per cent in the September quarter Anthony Albanese has announced.

This is a result of the government’s $23 billion cost-of-living relief rollout.

“Making childcare more accessible and affordable is an economic reform that boosts productivity and participation for working women in particular,” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said at the Economic Outlook Conference on Thursday.

“Childcare costs decreased 13 per cent in the September quarter; without our reforms, it is estimated that would have increased by 6.7 per cent, so almost a 20 per cent turn around as a result of the conscious decision that the government made,” Albanese revealed.

The Australian energy regulator also found the average wholesale electricity prices for the September quarter were less than half those seen at the same time last year.
