Coles issues recall for oysters marked with incorrect use by date

Coles has issued a recall for its oysters which were sold across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

The Sydney City Oysters – Pacific Oysters 12 pack was marked with the incorrect use by date of November 30 as opposed to November 10.

It was sold across online and physical stores between November 4 and November 8.

The supermarket giant said the recall was actioned as a “precaution”.

“While the product is currently safe to eat, customers should not consume the product beyond the correct Use By date of 10 November 2023,” Coles said in a statement.

Coles is offering full refunds if customers return the product to any of its supermarkets.

Online customers can also receive a full refund or credit by contacting customer care on 1800 455 400.

“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience,” Coles said.

Customers seeking any further information can reach the supermarket’s helpline on 1800 061 562.
