Driver killed, another injured in head-on collision in Kemps Creek, Sydney

One person has died and another has been injured in a serious head-on collision in Sydney’s west.

Police say a hatchback and a ute crashed into each other on Mamre Rd, Kemps Creek just after 6am on Friday.

One of the drivers died at the scene.

The other driver, a man in his 40s, was trapped for almost an hour before being released by emergency services.

He suffered leg, facial and chest injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

His condition is unknown.

“Officers from Nepean Police Area Command are on-site with crash investigators en route to the scene,” NSW Police said.

Mamre Rd is closed in both directions and traffic is building.

Road diversions are in place, with light vehicles able to divert via Luddenham Rd or Wallgrove Rd.

Heavy vehicles will be required to use Wallgrove Rd or The Northern Rd.
