Federal politicians’ safety almost double over two-year period
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has confirmed more than 1,000 reports of nuisance, harassment, offensive and threatening communications have been made against parliamentarians over the past financial year.
The Australian Federal Police Association (AFPA) latest figures compare to 555 threats in 2021-22 and 709 in 2022-23 financial years
AFPA’s members voted to support protected action last week over a pay deal which the union says is inadequate.
