This is under the supervision of officers from the Geology and Mining Bureau, the Department of Archaeology, Veyangoda Police, the Road Development Authority, and the Mirigama Divisional Secretariat.

It is reported that an order has been received from the Attanagalla Magistrate’s Court for this hunt.

It is said that various groups had been conducting hunts at this location for many years on several occasions, claiming that there was a treasure, and they had also been arrested by the police.

A previous investigation conducted by the Department of Archaeology revealed that there was nothing suspicious about the location.

However, an investigation conducted by the Police Special Task Force confirmed that there was something inside the soil.

The court has granted permission for the relevant excavation after reporting the facts to the Attanagalla Magistrate’s Court.

The Government Analyst is also present at this event and if a rock layer is found during the excavation, the Police Special Task Force officers have also been given permission by the court to continue the excavation by blowing up the site.

It is reported that if the excavation cannot be completed within a day, the court has also granted permission to continue the excavation until the end.
