Government reforms create a boom in demand for lawyers navigating new legislation

A wave of new federal government reforms has created a boom in demand for lawyers navigating the new legislation.

According to The Australian newspaper, new data from Eaton shows an increase in lawyers’ salaries correlating to key areas of legislative reform.

Industrial relations and energy are among the biggest areas adding demand for legal counsel.

Salaries have jumped by as much as 12 per cent due to the demand to navigate the government’s legislative reforms.

The country’s legal industry had earlier been tipped to follow the trend in the United States, which showed a downturn in hiring and an increase in redundancies.
