Grey Goose Australia via Product Safety Australia has issued a recall for its Limited Edition 1L vodka bottle which has attached a novelty light.
Grey Goose 40% Limited Edition 1L Night Vision – Northern Lights Edition has a button battery operated component which presents a risk of choking for young children.
The product was available for sale nationally at Dan Murphy’s and BWS between October 1 and December 21, 2023.
The affected lot code found at the base of the bottle is L23039GE2.
The product does not comply with mandatory standards for products containing a button/coin battery as they are not adequately secured and accessible to children.
Besides a choking risk, button batteries can cause severe internal burn injuries or death in young children if they swallow them.
Severe or fatal injuries can occur within two hours.
Customers who have purchased the product may be unaware the bottle has a button battery and that they carry a risk.
Consumers are directed to stop using the product immediately and to keep it out of reach.
Customers are urged to safely dispose of the bottle, or to return it to the place of purchase for full refund.
