Treasurer Jim Chalmers believes the floods across Australia will weigh in on the economy this year.
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan said it seems like a “flooding ate my homework excuse” from the Treasurer.
Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia that Jim Chalmers is trying to “get in early and blame any weakness in the economy this year”.
“It’s a bit hard to me to come to the conclusion this somehow would have a huge impact on the overall Australian economy.
“This seems to be an excuse from the Treasurer.”
