Labor planning to fix housing and cost of living with ‘ideology’

Nationals Leader David Littleproud has slammed the Albanese government for working with ideology and not planning as developers become adamant that 170,000 homes by 2027 is an unreachable target.

“Net migration went up about 500,000 last year when you take into account foreign students, and when they looked at the migration and who is coming in, they didn’t even put that migration mix around the skillsets, that we need tradies,” Mr Littleproud told Sky News Australia.

“You can’t build homes, you can’t build new units if you don’t have the tradies to be able to do it.

“This is all because of the ideology of the Labor movement saying to the government, we don’t want tradies to come into this country – we want to produce our own.

“The housing crisis, the cost-of-living crisis is now; it is not in three or four years’ time.”
