Minister Vijitha Herath appeared before the Colombo High Court today (29) to testify in relation to a case filed by the Bribery Commission.
Alleging that the Development Lottery Board had caused a loss to the government by entrusting the lottery promotion work to several private companies contrary to the accepted tender procedure, the bribery case had been filed against its former chairman Mr. Chandrawansa Pathiraja during the previous good governance government.
Minister Vijitha Herath, who submitted the complaint related to this case, was ordered to appear before the court to testify today .
After considering the facts presented there, Colombo High Court Judge RSS Sapuvida adjourned the evidence hearing until February 5th.
On that day, Minister Vijitha Herath was also ordered to appear in court.
