It has been decided to carry out the last rites of Neil Hapuhinna, a former ministry secretary who died in an accident in Australia, on Wednesday.
Relatives of his family said that the former secretary will be laid to rest at Albany Creek Memorial Park in Auckland on Wednesday at 2pm.
Neil Hapuhinna has held the positions of secretaries in several ministries as well as key positions in several governments.
Neil Hapuhinna, who was 61 years old at the time of his death, had retired from public service and had moved to Australia temporarily with his family.
Family members had stated that the cause of his death was a sudden heart attack while walking on the beach.
