A threatening Neo-Nazi video sent to Senator Lidia Thorpe is now under investigation by Federal Police.
The video consisted of a man in a black balaclava making disparaging remarks against Ms Thorpe and racist comments directed at Indigenous Australians.
The man is also seen in the video burning an Indigenous flag and, at the end, performing a Nazi salute – the video has since been removed from social media and the account deactivated.
The threat has been attacked right across the aisle, with both the Australian Federal Police and politicians commenting on the situation.
“I think it’s cowardly and disgusting – I don’t know what it is with these man baby Nazis wearing a hood so no one can see you; they think they’re so tough,” NDIS and Government Services Minister Bill Shorten said.
This is not the first time Senator Thorpe has been targeted by Neo-Nazi threats.
