New city to be erected in Western Sydney

A new city is set to rise in Sydney’s west, with thousands of homes to be built around the Western Sydney Airport.

The state government has formally accepted the Bradfield City Centre Master Plan, which will create 20,000 new jobs and build 10,000 new homes, with 10 per cent of them to be affordable housing.

The new city will also include a two-hectare Central Park, a naturally integrated swimming pool and a major events space for concerts and community events.

“The Bradfield City Centre Masterplan provides a critical blueprint to help guide development and strategically plan for western Sydney’s new world-class city,” Minister for Western Sydney Prue Car said.

“This new precinct will continue to grow and evolve around Western Sydney’s Airport with updated roads, innovative open space areas and metro rail connections.”

The NSW Government said the Bradfield City Centre would have a strong focus on culture, creativity and innovation.

The development is backed by a $1 billion investment from the state government.
