New report reveals lack of childcare services in regional Australia

A new report has revealed a lack of childcare services in regional Australia.

The Parenthood report has found childhood education and care services are limited to non-existent across the nation’s regional areas.

The lack of these services means children are missing out on educational, social, and health benefits and the report calls for change to create better access to these services for regional families.

“We want to see more regional, remote families access early learning and we want to see good outcomes for early learning as well,” Shadow Early Childhood Education Minister Angie Bell told Sky News Australia.

“We are working on how we can build in flexibility and choice for Australian families and I think that’s important – that is the cornerstone of what we are looking at and that’s the road we want to take.”
