One in three retail workers consider quitting job

It has been revealed that one in three shop workers in Australia are planning to quit due to job insecurity.

A new study has found that one in three workers is considering quitting their job over safety concerns ahead of the upcoming holiday shopping season.

Research conducted by Researchscape has revealed that the majority of store managers and staff are concerned about crime in their stores.

It has been stated that 65 percent of the employees believe that many more measures could have been taken regarding the safety of the employees including themselves.

Due to this, it has been mentioned that the employees expect a new security technology and they feel safe with it.

Recent crime statistics have revealed that there has been a 7.9 per cent increase in overall crime in Australia, including retail crime.

The police have stated that with about 50 percent of thefts committed by first-time thieves, more people have resorted to crime due to economic problems.
