Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa announced yesterday that he would introduce a ‘One Rank One Pay’ system to address pay anomalies ,highlighting his commitment to creating a respectable police service,
He speaking a rally in Nikaweratiya, Sajith said the temporary special allowance currently given to the police by the present government would be continued under a future SJB government.
“We will also look after those officers in the education sector as well as all public servants,” he pledged.
Presenting a range of pledges, he stated that a 50 kg bag of fertilizer would be provided at Rs 5,000.
Additionally, fuel would be supplied to farmers, fisherfolk, three-wheelers, school vans, and Shakthi rice mill owners via QR codes.
