Public Security Minister Tiran Alles announced in Parliament that 58,304 individuals were granted dual citizenship in Sri Lanka between 2015 and 2020.
Additionally, 63,917 applications were submitted during this period.
The breakdown of applications per year is as follows:
– 2015: 17,126
– 2016: 14,802
– 2017: 9,549
– 2018: 9,750
– 2019: 8,702
– 2020: 3,988
