Property spike as average Australian home costs $759K

National home prices have lifted 0.36 per cent in October, setting a new peak.

According to PropTrack, property prices are up almost five per cent this year.

The median house price nationally has now risen to $759,000, says Sky News business reporter Edward Boyd.

The home price index has also listed the average house price for Sydney at $1.07 million, Melbourne at $815,000, Brisbane at $773,000 and Adelaide at $697,000.

Mr Boyd claims property prices and rental costs continue to add to Australia’s rising inflation.
