Australia Announces Implementation of New Subclass 192

In March this year, the Department of Home Affairs of Australia announced that it would implement the new Subclass 192-Pacific Engagement visa.

The same source said that through this program Australia aims to deepen its connections to the region by attracting nationals from the Pacific and Timor-Leste thus encouraging a greater cultural, educational and business exchange.

According to the Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Pat Conroy, the programme shows the high value Australia places on its relations with Timor-Leste and the Pacific.

The Minister considers the program has transformative potential making Australia’s world-class education and training system easily accessible for new residents under the Pacific Engagement Visa.
