Reserve Bank of Australia leaves interest rate on hold at 4.35%

The Reserve Bank of Australia has left interest rates on hold at 4.35 per cent in its sixth-straight meeting.

The central bank on Tuesday left its cash rate unchanged at 4.35% for a sixth meeting in a row. The decision was widely expected by economists after June quarter inflation largely met RBA’s forecasts and market turmoil began spreading around the world.

It comes as the ASX trades higher in afternoon trade following a global sell-off on financial markets overnight sparked by mounting fears of a worldwide recession.
