According to the average daily temperature data collected by the Bureau of Meteorology from hundreds of weather stations across the country, it has been revealed that the temperature in October was 2.51 degrees higher than the average.
This reflects the impact of climate change and marks the 9th month on record where temperatures have been significantly above average across Australia.
In the state of Queensland, the temperature of the last month has risen to 2.7 degrees above the average value.
Except for Tasmania, temperatures in October were at least two degrees above average.
October rainfall was slightly below average in Melbourne and Sydney, while Adelaide, Canberra and Hobart were average.
