SL Rupee appreciates against foreign currencies

The Sri Lankan Rupee has appreciated against several foreign currencies yesterday (Mar 28), according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. 

The US Dollar continues to remain below Rs. 300 with the buying rate further dropping to Rs. 295.54, while the selling rate is Rs. 305.33.

Earlier in March, the buying rate of the US Dollar dropped below Rs. 300 for the first time since July 2023 and has remained so for over a week. 

The Rupee has also appreciated against other foreign currencies, such as the Australian Dollar at Rs. 201.49 and the Canadian Dollar at Rs. 226.35.

The Sri Lankan Rupee has also slightly appreciated against Gulf currencies, such as the Kuwait Dinar at Rs. 979.17 and the UAE’s Dirham at Rs. 82.05. (NewsWire)
