Minister Vijitha Herath has instructed the relevant authorities to set up a special coordination unit to inform passengers immediately regarding Sri Lankan flight delays.
It is reported that the Minister has given these instructions while attending an observation tour of Katunayake Airport to investigate the complaints received regarding the delay of Sri Lankan flights.
The special unit representing the airport and SriLankan Airlines will be established at the airport premises to provide information to passengers about flight delays 24 hours a day.
It is also mentioned that attention has been paid to provide necessary facilities to the passengers during the delay period.
The Minister of Employees has been informed about the decision to reduce the bonus of 50,000 rupees given in the year 2023 based on a decision taken during the previous administration.
