Sri Lanka Passport validity extended till e-passport rollout

The Immigration and Emigration Controller General has announced that passports expiring after 1 July will receive a one-year validity extension.

This measure aims to facilitate the issuance of e-passports.

The extension applies to passports that have already exceeded their original 10-year validity period.

It will remain in effect until the rollout of e-passports begins in November 2024.
