Smoke & Bitters in Hiriketiya has made history as the first bar from Sri Lanka to enter the World’s 50 Best Bars list.
It debuted at No. 86 on the extended list of bars ranked 51-100 for 2024.
The announcement comes just two weeks before the full list of the top 50 bars is revealed. Sponsored by Perrier, this list includes some of the world’s best cocktail destinations, featuring 12 new entries from cities like Copenhagen, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Toronto.
This is the eighth year the 51-100 list has been released, recognizing bars that excel in innovation and hospitality. The rankings are decided by a panel of over 700 independent drinks experts, bartenders, and industry professionals. The final top 50 will be announced on October 22 in Madrid.
